Everynow and then something comes along that makes me have the 'I-wish-I-had-done-that' feeling, although nowadays it is getting rarer and rarer, it still pops up from time to time. Most recently I had it when listening to this KuBo mixtape, his style is a perfect balance between Dark Techno, Kudoro-ish Beats, Dubbed out echos and the kind of subtlety that would keep me dancing all night long. Somehow it still manages to retain that banging intensity that we all know and love and I for one will pushing this stuff as hard as I can, as this, ladies and gentlemen is really the sound of Get Rude at the moment.

So picture the (incredibly surreal) scene...
We just landed in Ibiza after a straight-through-no-sleep flight from Stanstead, left our bags at Scarface's Villa and found ourselves at dinner with Judge Jules, Krafty Kuts, Eddie Halliwell and some Dutch Trance producer called Bart. The warm-up DJ at the restuarant is playing some nice Tech-House with definite zulu leanings, both of us bouncing around in our chairs whilst the Hard House mafia sign autographs for excited Scottish teenagers. One track in particular makes me approach the booth and ask for the author of said banger-langer, and it turns out I have been sleeping heavily on Mr. Franky Rizardo (who appears to be of the same ilk as Sidney Sampson et al). It also turns out that this track would go on to be the best song I heard the entire night, now go and buy his Voodoo and Flutetest tracks from Beatport like I just did.

Three points of extra-ordinary note on this otherwise ordinary Friday.
1. Maaaaassssive thanks go out to This Is Music Ltd for seeing the possiblities in Mujava's 'Township Funk' track. We featured the dude on here ages ago and it seems like he is getting an official release complete with a Beedle re-edit and everything. I hope we finally hear more of this guy and he gets his act together and gets a myspace up and running.
2. Put this in your diary, Barclay and the gang are headed for London next weekend (25th). Unit 7 in Limehouse plays home to the first ever 'Official' Dirtybird party. Justin Martin and Tim Green will be in tow for what you know will probably be one of the parties of the year...just so you know.
3. Nutcases...I tell you. My search for more Pretoria House somehow lead me to this. The art of 'Gusheshe' (BMW) spinning seems to be quite popular judging by all the You Tube posts, one video attributed the event to the dying of a local Tsotsi (thief/gangster). Insane.
We're off to Ibiza! If we dont come back you can find us on the beachfront playing Orb 12"s every sunrise (with beaded beards and wearing a lot of linen).

Mastiksoul is a big deal.....like, a REALLY big deal. His label Kitsam is one of our favourites at the moment, you should go check it if you havent heard of it before. He manages to mix House, Tech, Minimal, a shit load of Bongos with Beats that sound like Brixton on a hot sunny day into his tracks....and they work! I found this live set from the man, and although I cant find a tracklist (very annoying) this is still a pleasure to listen to.

Yaw! Going to Bari, South Italy on Thursday and cant wait to get out of the jet and get a heavy punch of 35 degrees right in the face. And I´m really looking forward to the beach and the food as well. No doubt that the Italian kitchen is my favorite. Yummi! Today I´m posting something for the darkest hours of your night life. Cocoon is on the top of my list of techno labels and this one represents perfectly.

Anyways off the tribulations of hard graft and on to house music baby. A different sound to what I have come to expect from S & B- A bit more fidgety but still amazing.

Been following him and his brother Justin for a while now and they really are stepping up their game with new and innovative sounds with every release. No wonder why Claude The Great is such a big fan. Heres a solid proof of what I´m talking about..

Back from a long week in the Valencian sun, tanned and slightly starved of music. Most of the beats I did hear were supplied by the Spanish teenagers on the Metro, it was refreshing to hear that the kids prefer to listen to original traditional Spanish music as opposed to the diluted R&B that London yoofs like so much.
A lesson in Bass today, the music that told you whether your car speaker system was up to scratch....
First up is a classic in the form of The Miami Bass Machine, rolling basslines, bad raps and that boom-boom-boom pattern that has influenced the Martin Brothers so much. I love those high and low pitched vocals so much!
The Miami Bass Machine - Bassadelic
Next up is a beautiful ballad that is as romantic as it is delicate, I played this to my girlfriend and she walked out the room....dayum.
Disco Rick - Fuck Around the Clock
And lastly is the Cadillac anthem by DJ Nasty, cool scratch chorus with a catchy hook!
DJ Nasty - My Cadillac Got Bass
Peace!

I´m freaking out about the picture with a certain dude in a teddy costume, freaking love it! Of joy and laughter I´m feeling like showing some love up on here. To do that heres some classic material that never fails the floor.

wowza- I can't feel my arms, or my legs for that matter- I just joined a gym and my very sweet looking trainer has been making me pay. The weekend is coming back to me with a vengeance.
Anyhoo- back to musical workouts- this little cheeky chappie is a South American banger (excuse the dreadfully 90's slang)- amazing!!!

Montreal based artist Guillaume Coutu Dumont is killing me with his far out blend of funk, house, techno, gospel, afro-beat and things I don´t even have words for. He is releasing great stuff right now with his solo project Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts. His recent remix of French boy Sety (another cool cat from their respective label Circus Company whom is also hosting hot acts Like Noze, Oleg Paliakov and Samim) has been working for me all weekend playing first a super posh place on Friday and another quite posh one on Saturday. Even had this track on twice yesterday for these smooth looking, Cigar licking, Scooter driving, tight Tees mofos. Love the keys coming in at 4 min´s 50!
