Wow what a great year. I know it's a little early for a reflective post- but lets face it the run up to NYE will be way to drunken to post good.

I think it's fair to say that everyone who posts on GB has had a good year, for me the highlight of the year has been receiving praise from the dj's and producers who inspired us in the first place. I'm not going to list them (you should be able to guess anyway)- but I am going to say that both of us are very happy with the people we are going to be working with next year and the places our releases are going to be coming out.

I'm working on a best of 2008 but there is so much good stuff to reflect on that it's taking a while- In the mean time Jesse Rose kindly did a 08 best tracks for us:

Jesse Rose (off the top of my head) 2008 chart

1. Sis - Nesrib - ceccile
2. LOTP - Bathroom Gurgle (Duke Dumont Remix) - Parlophone
3. Jesse Rose - Touch My Horn - Dubsided
4. Consistent - Midnight Blend (Oliver $ Remix) - Front Room

6 .Daniel Steinburg - keep on moving - Front Room
7. Riva Starr - Maria - Kindish

An interesting article on the 'death' of Minimal Techno can be found here. Apart from it being maybe a little late and a little severe at the same time, it raises some interesting points that we have all been noticing lately, the Guardian gets in on the action........

Its rare nowadays to be impressed by a new blog. They seem to be a much of a muchness, purveying the same goods, the same remixes, the same collabs. Refreshing then, when something falls out of the sky, lands in your lap and makes your ears perk up. Get The Curse operates out of Paris and takes care of the Deep, Minimal and Techier side of things, they run Podcasts on the reggo and throw decent looking parties. Go check them out.....here.

Worthy's new(ish) label has been putting out a lot of nice stuff recently, the most recent Mad Cap is one you should be looking out for. After a few trials with the name (it went from Katabatic to Anabatic due to someone else with the same name) they seem to have made a nice groove for themselves. Worthy knocked up this promo mix to celebrate!

Worthy - Station Grape

2. Dub Taylor - The Max - Opossum Recordings
3. Ronald Christoph - Underground limbo

THINGS I LEARNT IN YANKEE.

1. The US airport guys like searching me even more that their European counterparts- then even have a special machine they made me stand in several times...

2. Eating lots of hamburgers, pancakes and other various fatty foods makes the brain sluggish and you start to think- hmm maybe that George bush ain't such a bad guy.

3. Thanksgiving is really really stupid- If I was Native American I'd be mega pissed that the entire country celebrates the fact that the Native Americans helped out the Pilgrims and the Pilgrims helped out the Native Americans by killing and raping them all.

4. No man needs to buy more than 3 pairs of sneakers in one trip regardless of how cheap they are - because he has to carry the fuckers home.

5. Being in a car with a drunk driver is fucking scary.

6. Penn station has a quality of homeless dudes that kings cross only dreams about having.

7. There are rats every where in NYC - some even ware suits.

8. The drugs are much better here.

9. People are actually very polite in New York- that myth that everyone is crazy rude is a lie.

10. I need to stop putting on a weird half American accent (I can't help it) it sounds really stupid.

I'm off to see Mr. Ricardo Villalobos tonight play alongside Jesse Rose and others at the fantastic Watergate club tonight. I have never seen the man play before and am intrigued to see what all the fuss is about...This track sees him get his moody on with Jay Haze, big trumpets and steady beats.

Blamma Blamma! Second mix of the day, this one was made especially for GutterBroadcast. Daniel Steinberg is a champ, we are big fans of his twisted music, from the cut-up madness of Cobra Limbos to the chunky fidget like-beats of Viwa La Fiwa. Berlin resident Mr. Steinberg can be found selling his wares on Frontroom as well the Style Rockets label, and also puts out more Tech stylings under his Harry Axt moniker. Now go and say a big thankyou to Daniel over the internet whilst listening to this superb mix, whooooop!

Daniel Steinberg - Treptower Nachte

1. Late Of The Pier Bathroom – Gurgle (Duke Dumont remix)
2. Julian Chaptal - balkafono
3. Boris Werner - sambosa
4. Paul Rich – crazy madness (Lucca Bacchetti remix)
5. Daniel Steinberg - pay for me (Lauhaus remix)
6. Robert Dietz – shunsower
7. Daniel Steinberg – dont you know?
8. Siobey – siboney
9. Daniel Steinberg – i like to be (Markus Meinhard remix)
10. Riva Star – snach!
11. Jesse Rose & Oliver $ - deize tigrona ( Oliver $ mix)
12. Dave Angel – timeless
13. Je davu – music got you movin
14. Eyerer & Namito – seefeuer
15. Broombeck – mono turn (Sebastian Lutz remix)
16. Kaiserdisco - traction
17. Pierce Jerl – blanc de blancs
18. Marco Carola – dancing days
19. SiS – nesrip
20. Marmion - schöneberg

Another mix here for those quiet days on the road. We're Not Cool popped up a while back in the London scene and has been holding it down at Ministry and Trailer Trash, this track sees him serve up some 'warm techno' on these cold days. Enjoy!
