Zombie Fondue Squad.

Now and again you come across certain songs from the past that jump out at you with the energy and force of a modern day peak-time anthem. I found this track on some blog or other (it may have been Risky Bizniz) and instantly took it out to play, everytime I played it the crowd went insane. It has that nostalgic 'good-time' housey vibe without being cheesy, it also bounces like a Dubsided track does nowadays. Dude Paul Johnson first got it out on Tinted and it later got picked up by a gazillion labels including Defected etc. Mr. Johnson is one of the original Dance Mania guys and has made some dope Ghetto House, if you dont know now you know.

Paul Johnson - Get Down (Extended Mix)

On the subject of Dance Mania, heres a bonus track for your ears, by one of my all time favourites DJ Deeon.

DJ Deeon - Shake What Ya Mama Gave Ya

Warm it up for this one!

Just back from Switzerland! Played a radio show and the fantastic Hive club (hands down the best DJ booth I have ever played), mad love to Bern and the Round Table Knights for making it happen. Photos to follow! Free the bears!!

When I got back I found this in the mail, from our homedudes Faggatronix (No Homo!). It pretty much sums up what the more interesting parts of London are sounding like at the moment, a lot of bass, a lot of bounce and a lot of fun. London kids stand up!

We were really saddened to hear of the untimely death of Jesper from the production/Dj duo Krazy Fiesta. Our thoughts are with his friends and family.
Just found this cool little video explaining a little more behind the production techniques and history of Funk Carioca. It deals with the origin of the Tamborzao beat, you know, the one that goes 'boom-chak-chak-boom-boom-chak'. Okay so its not the most riveting thing in the world, it doesn't feature enough girls getting busy and the history of 'beats' is generally a geeky thing, whatever, the Tamborzao beat features in 99% of Carioca songs and makes girls wiggle like they got ants in their pants, so watch and learn.

So I don't know anybody that doesn't like Claude Vonstroke, its not like I ask everyone I meet, you can just tell when you play his shit, people lose their minds (the Jamelia remix anyone?). He is one of the best things that happened to dance music in 2007. Dude gets the formular right 99% of the time: a little bit of minimal, a little fidget, a little house mixed with a sense of humour. The album was off the meat rack and still sounds more than fresh when played in the clubs, I can't fault the guy (apart from the Samim remix, that wierd gypsy shit wasn't sitting right) and wish he'd release new material every day.

This mix of his had me jumping up and down in my seat, literally, I almost fell off and mash my rarse and ting! Claude wastes no time in getting straight into it....pump loud!!

Claude Vonstroke - Club Promo Mix

There is a whole host of other mixes on the Dirty Bird site. Go now.

And while we are on the subject of Dirty Bird, I had to include this new track by Justin Martin. Good. Old. Days.

Just a real quick one....

Just found a site called Clekclekboom, from what I can tell it's going to be a new download site selling B-more, Baile, House and Electro. If you go there now you can get some amazing free tracks at good bit rates by hitting download on the player. Watch out for the Dj Sandrinho tracks they're amazing

Bam. First up to bat we gots my remix of a track by Baile Funk supremeo Mc Gil, it's been on the hard drive for a while and it's definitley time for it to breath. Big tom bass and wait for the dancehall drums at the end...

Mc Gill - Guerra no Iraque (Nathaniel Self Remix)

Round two and we have a bassline heavy, electro-house track which kinda has breakbeat elements (in a good way), sharp hats, a stuttered beat that makes it perfect for peak time. Wooooo...

Bump - House Stompin (Richard Dinsdale rmx)

Third batter is more a b-more mixing tool than a track, sling an accapella over the top when you're in the mix and watch the speakers melt.

Salvador - Cartoon Rhythm
Its miami bass wednesday! Today we kick off with a video....

Freestyle - Automatic

Dope track with a mean basslines, spooky singalong lyrics about a robot forcefully taking another robot girl....are those fucked up dystopian visions or am I taking life a little too seriously?

Next up is a video from Afrika Bambaata's cousin MC Shy D. Shake It is a straight up party track in the vein of Run DMC, the video features a lot of hoop earrings and dookie ropes (for those that havent guessed yet, this is like my perfect party ever).

And here is the track itself....

MC Shy D - Shake It

Heres something more on the electro tip (and by electro I don't mean Ed Banger/MSTRKRFT 'electro', I mean head spinning, high fiving, 808 beating, high topping ELECTRO), heres a track that every music fan should have in their collection...

Al-Naafiyash - Hashim

Bonus! Disco Rick presents the Getto Neuz (just check those backgrounds out)..
