The film centres around the Savage Skulls and Savage Nomads, two prominent gangs in New York during the 1970's, and their various stories and hustles. I love this shit, its almost too good to be true. Now if only the guy would upload the last two parts of the movie!

When we were in Amsterdam for our stint at the Flex Bar we did a quick interview for Vice Belgium, it felt kinda stoopid sat around talking about 'new rave' and the 2,394 subjects you get asked about as a DJ whilst we sat in one of the most mentally liberated cities in the world. I suggested we went and did a review of our 10 favourite sex toys and the lovely journalist was into the idea. So heres the result, and heres the interview (cool if you can speak Dutch). I was hoping the sex toy thing would make the magazine but i guess we arent cynical enough.

Hip House. Some hate it, some love it. I really love it. You cant beat big trousers, big beats (NOT 'big beat'), big earrings, big hi-tops (both shoes and hair), big fun, big attitude....what is their not to like? My recent newfound contempt for modern, instant music (seriously, has anyone heard anything mindblowing lately? Put a comment with your email and I will personally send you a free tshirt if you can prove me wrong) has dragged me back to my old records. I recently read that 'fidget house' is becoming the new 'funky house'...it certainly feels like that sometimes. The big, cheap shot basslines and the over the top predictable/unpredictable build ups are proving to be a tad un-inspiring. Its cool to see the new wave of fidget creators taking the best parts of the sound and mixing it with other bits and pieces, artists like Mowgli, Clark Able, The Bulgarian and The Bald and the Beautiful are all mixing in house, garage and minimal to great effect. Listening to the latters productions make me happy in the thought that people are still spending time and effort making music, I gather the guys are friends with King Claude and do some parties on the West Coast? Whos to say? Just check out 'The Bacon Chambers'on their myspace and this one below to confirm their status as 'one to watch'

A while back I posted the classic Paul Johnson track 'Get Get Down', since then I have still been playing it, a lot, badly. I'm sorry...I get really drunk and its like pulling an old friend out to make me happy just one more time. Now I'm putting that shit to rest, for good.

Cos I got a new friend, his name is Charlie Fanclub and he bangs. Looking at his myspace you'd be mistaken for thinking Charlie just makes the same old 'crunchy-rock-electro' fare, BZZZZ! WRONG! He sent me this mature, heads down, jacking update of 'Get Get Down' which I'm well into. The track builds with disco pops, minimal clicks and wheezes and lush pads, calling on the familiarity of the vocals and sitting it next to a relentless, mechanical bass. Super Duper dope work!

New York... Pow... this seems like a year ago now but it was only about two weeks.. Played at a amazing night called Ruff Club,, that was a hell of Party, hung out with Divine Brown for part of the evening (the hooker that sucked off Hugh Grant in LA)... and she used the best chat up line I have have ever heard on me---Divine "Are you Straight?"--Nathaniel: "Yes"---Divine "Ssssttttrrrraight Back to my house"... I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit scared. Any who away from hookers and back to MUSIC, while in New York I spent a lot of time with the Trouble and Bass crew, apart from being the nicest bunch of folks I have ever encountered they are also incredibly talented Producers, DJ's, Promoters and have a 5star record label (also called T&B). Keep your eyes peeled for some mega hot new releases.

Now and again you come across certain songs from the past that jump out at you with the energy and force of a modern day peak-time anthem. I found this track on some blog or other (it may have been Risky Bizniz) and instantly took it out to play, everytime I played it the crowd went insane. It has that nostalgic 'good-time' housey vibe without being cheesy, it also bounces like a Dubsided track does nowadays. Dude Paul Johnson first got it out on Tinted and it later got picked up by a gazillion labels including Defected etc. Mr. Johnson is one of the original Dance Mania guys and has made some dope Ghetto House, if you dont know now you know.

We were really saddened to hear of the untimely death of Jesper from the production/Dj duo Krazy Fiesta. Our thoughts are with his friends and family.

Just found this cool little video explaining a little more behind the production techniques and history of Funk Carioca. It deals with the origin of the Tamborzao beat, you know, the one that goes 'boom-chak-chak-boom-boom-chak'. Okay so its not the most riveting thing in the world, it doesn't feature enough girls getting busy and the history of 'beats' is generally a geeky thing, whatever, the Tamborzao beat features in 99% of Carioca songs and makes girls wiggle like they got ants in their pants, so watch and learn.

So I don't know anybody that doesn't like Claude Vonstroke, its not like I ask everyone I meet, you can just tell when you play his shit, people lose their minds (the Jamelia remix anyone?). He is one of the best things that happened to dance music in 2007. Dude gets the formular right 99% of the time: a little bit of minimal, a little fidget, a little house mixed with a sense of humour. The album was off the meat rack and still sounds more than fresh when played in the clubs, I can't fault the guy (apart from the Samim remix, that wierd gypsy shit wasn't sitting right) and wish he'd release new material every day.

This mix of his had me jumping up and down in my seat, literally, I almost fell off and mash my rarse and ting! Claude wastes no time in getting straight into it....pump loud!!
