We have to give this one a big shout! We managed to get Daniel Haaksman (man of baile heaven, MAN Recordings) AND Shir Khan (he of 'Maximize' mix cd and Exploited Recordings) playing in our room at Egg on the 12th. Don't ask us how, we just did. You can see them Berlin dudes alongside us and The Bulgarian for FREE! The kind men at 'Magic Circle' have given us two pairs of free tickets for the night, all you need to do is email your name to zombiediscosquad@gmail.com and we will get back to the lucky winner at the end of the week. I recently read that 'fidget house' is becoming the new 'funky house'...it certainly feels like that sometimes. The big, cheap shot basslines and the over the top predictable/unpredictable build ups are proving to be a tad un-inspiring. Its cool to see the new wave of fidget creators taking the best parts of the sound and mixing it with other bits and pieces, artists like Mowgli, Clark Able, The Bulgarian and The Bald and the Beautiful are all mixing in house, garage and minimal to great effect. Listening to the latters productions make me happy in the thought that people are still spending time and effort making music, I gather the guys are friends with King Claude and do some parties on the West Coast? Whos to say? Just check out 'The Bacon Chambers'on their myspace and this one below to confirm their status as 'one to watch'

Parisian socialite and all round good looking dude Shino hooked us up with his version of that 20 Fingers classic 'Short Dick Man', love it or loathe it, the original gets people dancing and smiling quickfast. Shino has updated the track with crunk synths and half time beats...sure to get the popozudas moving.

and heres the (censored) video for the original...
We recently played after our favourites the Crookers at Magic Circle, their new stuff is sounding absolutley crazy....more techno-y, more house-y, more hypnotic-y, just really fucking rad-y (keep em peeled for hot exclusives right here). Phra introduced me to this dude Clark Able, and we since pestered him for a track or two. Lemonhead comes on like 'Flat Eric's' mature, jacking older brother...big bassline, cut-up vocals and non-stop beats. This is perfect for a 3am slot in some warehouse. Stoops.

Oh and while we are on the subject of really talented fidget producers...The Bulgarian shows no sign of letting up. He hit us up with 'Into The Groove', a sort of fidget meets acid experiment. Starts off all bleepy and stuttered and then blasts into heavy bass territory. Be sure to keep an eye out for The Bulgarian's EP out soon on On The Brink Records, I've heard it and it's well worth buying, homeboy hits our soil in August this year, be on the look out.

The Bulgarian has been a busy little bunny recently. Not content with making more minimal inspired tracks as Mr. Elastik, homeboy also gets jiggy wiv it. Tokyo Drift is a rework of Japanese hiphop nerds 'Teriyaki Boys'. The boys drip with Bape and rap in funny accents whilst playing up the 'ha-ha-we-aint-just-takeaway-guys' card (their debut album was called 'Beef or Chicken'). Anywaaaaaaaay, Bulga (my new nickname for him) has taken the original, stuck a marching beat on it and generally made it A LOT better. Blirriant, learry learry Blirriant.

Fidget House main man The Bulgarian sent us some new material. Loop Poop is a twisted maze of a track, harking back to the ol' Detroit Classic days, Over The Wall takes more of a relaxed disco angle, taking in Padded Cell like basslines and sweeping disco strings...something we weren't really expecting from our saffa bru, but it works really well and provides a nice opposite to the banging house music everywhere.
Speaking of 'banging house music everywhere'...just wait til you hear The Bulgarian's 'The Other Door', I haven't been this excited since Dave Taylor met P. Diddy.......you just aren't ready. Trust me. You. Just. Aren't. Ready

We'll be playing these, and more at our next Get Rude party, where we will be joined by the beautiful Miss Odd Kidd and The Round Table Knights. This Friday at The Social. Little Portland St. London. Come join us...it's FREE.

So first we get all damp about Sweat.X...then another South African pops up with more hot music. The Bulgarian blames the hot weather (apparently they cant help but make 'hot shit'). The Bulgarian first came to attention with a crazy cool mix on Slutty Fringe, we were impressed and got in contact. He very kindly put this up for grabs. Show some love dudes.
