Went down to catch Paul Kalkbrenner and Sascha Funke last night. They played in Copenhagen cause a certain movie they both are in (Berlin Caling) was shown at the festival Cph Pix. Unfortunately I only stayed to see Paul K. My sour head couldnt take more after that. Straight up BIG room techno in it! So now I need something bit more mellow. Motorbass aka Etienne de crecy and Phillip Zdar made fantastic house and deep house tracks through out the nineties. Here´s a favorite of mine a more laidback track of theirs from the legendary Transphunk ep of 93´. Do check out this ep and rest of their stuff. We all know their individual impact on house music but they are just as great together if not even stronger.

That 'house' feeling is seeping its way back into the clubs, Hercules covered a track of theirs and recently Mr. Luciano remixed 'Good Love' to great affect, wah wah guitars, splasy cymbals and sexy moans make this track a lovely one. Back in Amschterdamsch! Schuper Cool Yah! This city always makes me happy, lots of big drinks, big smily Dutch loons all over the joint and a general happy-go-lucky attitude to life. Ol'Rizardo made this blog before, heres a remix of his from a while back. The track errs on the edge of big room electro-house (which is definitley a baaaad thing) but he manages to pull it back by dropping into some insane voodoo-zulu-bamboo-banging groove (which is a supremely gooooood thing).

I just made the mistake of watching Justice's 'A Cross the Universe', intrigued by all the 'fake-or-not-fake' talk I decided to download it and see what all the fuss about.

What a total waste of my time! I found the documentary as contrived and as false as the pair's Marshall 'speaker' stack that appears on stage with them. To be honest, I dont give a shit about whether the film's events are true or not, guns do exist in America, as do french dickheads and drunken groupies, that's a given. No matter which way you look at it, Justice et al attempted to make a movie that tried its hardest to cement Gaspard and the other guys status firmly in Rock legend and it failed miserably. I came away with the sour feeling that Justice are simply a bunch of drunk, gross perverts that appear to be both bored of their job and ungrateful of the situations it has got them in, strange then, as you would expect the movie to exactly the opposite.

'Justice-Bashing' is most certainly in vogue right now and I approached the film as openly as I could, wanting to enjoy it for what it was. I urge everyone to do the same and see what their thoughts on the subject are. You can download that shit here. Let us know what you think.....
