When we were on our US Tour we hooked up with this unsightly slob called James, he was DJing and working for Scion (the car company that put together our mini-within-a-tour-tour)...it turned out he was one of the MCs in my all time favourite boybands...The Hardy Boys(remember the video I posted waaaay back?). Its safe to say I am a fanboy and the rumours circulating that we will be making beats for their album are true and I am stoked about it....James took good care of us in America, drove us to Boston, took us to Mark Ronson's garden and generally introduced us to women of ill repute on the daily. He is also a dope DJ and needs to get his arse over to Europe so we can put him on our tracks and exploit his talent.....he made this mix to show you all and here I am presenting it to you. Enjoi!

I have to fess up......I have always had more of an affinity with Techno than House, something about the cold, mechanic and slightly humanistic emotion of bleeps and clicks resonates with something in me...I cant quite explain it.I still get those wierd-hair-standing-on-end experiences with Techno music (and when I'm talking Techno I mean minimal, modern or original stuff...not 145bpm crusty Techno, I feel dirty just listening to that stuff).

I got a few of those 'special' moments when watching this documentary, you can say what you like about Mr. Hawtin (he has many haters) but what he has done with his career and what he does with expanding on the clubbing experience shown in this video is pretty astonishing. This is a dance music documentary worth keeping and watching again, inspiring stuff!! (unlike the Luciano documentary, I had to turn that one off 20 minutes in, his ego was too big for my computer)

Hip Hop documentaries serve a certain purpose for me, the last few I watched have opened my eyes to the different qualities that each rapper has or is. The Weezy doc made me realise how lonely Wayne is (dont worry Moola, I'm here for you), the Big Pun doc made me realise how goddamn 'BIG' Punisher actually was towards the end of his days and the Biggie doc made me realise how wonky homeboys eye actually was....like crazy 45 degrees wonky, I cant believe I never noticed it.

This documentary makes me see how goddamn-completely-insanely-around-the-world-loop-the-loop-crazy ODB was. There are far too many gems in this one, so if like me you are starting your day with a distinct lack of direction and maybe an uncertainty to what you might create during the day, watch this and be happy in the knowledge that you are not quite as fucked as ODB was (R.I.P).

The meal you see us eating at the start of the video is on of my favourite meals EVER. The resturant is owned by Mon Colonel's family and it serves a traditional Belgium dish of Boulettes et Frites. The meatballs are served with an apple sauce, salad and some dope ass mayo, I am already thinking about my next time there. Thankyou to the Partyharders for an amazing party.....proud of you dudes.

Amaaaaaazing! This documentary confirms my suspicion that BBC Four is probably the best thing on TV at the moment. Synth Brittania takes a look at the Electro Pop scene from its roots to its 'end', featuring Kraftwerk, Yazoo, OMD and all the others. I highly recommend checking this one out....

A Riot going on....

When we go to Paris (which we do, a lot) we usually bump into the same animals. Marvy, Tarko, Kesmo, Ro and all the others prop up the DJ booth and get insanely drunk with us everytime we hit the Social Club....recently there has been a new face added to the crowd, Marvys little brother, Riotkid. Riotkid is the kinda dude that makes me want to up my game for fear of letting the new wave take over. Constantly on the grizzle, always energetic, full of promise and always smiling...with a decent taste in music too. Be sure to keep an eye on this fella, peep his myspace and his recent EP here.
